For those who asked (well, just [livejournal.com profile] noirem really) our plans are indeed to go to Dickens on Saturday the 4th. We are meeting my grandparents at 11 either at the front or at Fezziwigs if we miss each other at the entrance.

Anyone who plans to visit the fair on that day from the east bay wish to carpool into the city? The parking is $7 so it would be nice to save money, as well as the company. We will not have time in the morning to go far off our route but meeting either at our house by 9:30 or meeting somewhere along the route is an option.

Oh yeah, who all is working at Fezziwigs this year?

And for those doing DG windows that day, when can we expect to find you there?

Also, I was wondering if there is a pre-show. In the past there was a pre-show of Mr. Dickens going around and bringing to life the various characters from his books. It is just the kind of thing I think my grandparents would enjoy, so I wanted to know if I should tell them to arrive early for this or not. Any one who is working there know and if there is, when and where?

also: an idea for your grandparents... high tea at the tea shoppe? it is at 4pm and you MUST make reservations in the morning. another option is just coming into the tea shoppe at anytime and ordering "afternoon tea" for the same price as high tea except that you get more choices.... i can tell you more if you wish....

Was thinking of doing just that. The high tea is a good idea, although I will have to ask if they want to wait that long. If they are up for staying that late I will lobby for it. Either way we will make a stop in the tea shoppe. See you there!

actually, unless you come back to the kitchen, you won't see me.. you will just eat my sandwiches!

the afternoon tea option might be better then... you get to chose your sandwich, type of tea and dessert and you still get to keep the tea pot. at the 4pm sitting, everyone gets PG Tips tea, trifle for dessert and a quarter of each type of sandwich.. no choices.

I prefer the Afternoon tea. Less crowded. More flexible timing.

Of course I plan to come back to say hi. I have before, remember? I know what it is like, I used to work in the tea shoppe kitchen.

Sounds like the regular afternoon tea is probably the better choice, as there are choices and timing is more flexible. We shall see. Thanks for the info.
