Singles Game night

A friend of mine asked me to host a Singles Game Night at her game shop in Oakland. I was wondering if I could get some feedback from the peanut gallery.

Please comment if you have any thoughts to share on this idea. I am especially looking for ideas of how to promote this as well as suggestions for good games to play.

So far I have had more woman who have expressed interest, so I am more worried about finding single guys to show-up!

Though I think that women might be more apt to RSVP for that sort of event whereas the male gamer is more apt to just show to a listed event.

Though as it pretains to gamers, the date is a big deal as well, on the gaming schedule at the moment there are a number of events that are going to be happening.

The big one for Nov around here is GenCon SoCal. Thats mid Nov.

This weekend is horrid, we had WOW:CCG release Event Thursday(Yesterday), Friday (Today) is DreamBlade:Baxar's War Release, Saturday is DDM:BloodWar Pre-Release, and I think there is something going on Sunday. Thats this weekend.

Other events are going on throughout the next couple weekends, We (The NorCal DDM crew) had to postpone our Colifornia Open till Jan becuase of Events and Event schedules. =P

there will be a number of Single guys at the DDM pre-release on Saturday, if I had a time and place info I would be more than happy ot pass along the info to them.
