We did the walk-through yesterday morning with the landlady from the old place. After spending about 14 hours, including the (well worth the money) cleaning help of bdot for 8 of those, and about 9 hours of packing and hauling from abditus (poor guy got a puncture wound mid-day and spent 3 hours in the clinic waiting for a tetanus shot - and got to take a much coveted nap), we left the house is great condition. The landlady met us there the next morning, and, despite our worries that since she is a lawyer and very particular she would be really picky, she thought things looked good! She even asked who we had do the clean-out, so bdot, you succeeded in impressing her. We still need to see how much she gives us back from the deposit, but I think she will remain a good rental reference, which is always a good thing.

And the most important thing: we have passed that light at the end of the tunnel and come out into the daylight.

And this is why I have the status of my last tetanus shot listed on my driver's license, so as to keep it current...
