We did the walk-through yesterday morning with the landlady from the old place. After spending about 14 hours, including the (well worth the money) cleaning help of
bdot for 8 of those, and about 9 hours of packing and hauling from
abditus (poor guy got a puncture wound mid-day and spent 3 hours in the clinic waiting for a tetanus shot - and got to take a much coveted nap), we left the house is great condition. The landlady met us there the next morning, and, despite our worries that since she is a lawyer and very particular she would be really picky, she thought things looked good! She even asked who we had do the clean-out, so
bdot, you succeeded in impressing her. We still need to see how much she gives us back from the deposit, but I think she will remain a good rental reference, which is always a good thing.
And the most important thing: we have passed that light at the end of the tunnel and come out into the daylight.

Hooray!

Re: Hooray!
Date: 2005-04-04 08:59 pm (UTC)Mostly I still need to unpack, especially the den, which is going to take some effort, and even some help, especially with moving heavier items, of course. Thanks so much again for you and DWs help last week. If you ever want to come over and get another gormet dinner and help me organize the den, let me know. The TiVo is working in the den now, so we could couple it with a show or two.
