Wish list meme

I have seen this in several journals now and have some ideas for gifts that I can grant. As a naturally generous person, giving is one of my favorite sides of the whole gift exchange traditions (I get this from my dad). Not that I don't mind receiving gifts, but giving them is also lots of fun. I still need to update my list from Santa Central from last year, but I think this meme is a good way to get started.

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.


Wishes for myself (in no particular order)
1. Help cleaning out and organizing the garage (I know there are loads of things to donate there, as well as lots of just trash and recycling, we just need to find them)

2. Motorcycle riding lessons (I would love to take the CC Riders class, but some personal instruction beforehand on a bike I can handle - smaller than abditus' BMW R1150RT - would help me decide if I can do this in the first place before spending the $ on the class)

3. GoLive for Mac version 5 or 6 (I own 4, and after buying the upgrade to CS found it does not upgrade from 4, only 5 or 6 - sprained my ankle over this I was so irritated!)

4. Books, CDs or DVDs from my Amazon wish list (which is much more up to date), even used ones in decent condition are fine

5. An end to the constant pain and tension in my left shoulder region, and my carpal tunnel in general

6. Help keeping me on track with my diet and exercise plan (no, really)

7. Help organizing my office and henna business

8. Success to all my friends who are out of work in finding what they want and need to survive, be it a dream job or winning lottery ticket

9. Good health for myself and loved ones

10. Someone to come play The Sims, Bustin' Out with me regularly (that, and a copy of the latest version, The Urbz, Sims in the City for the XBox)

Ooh, either one would be great. I think I should focus on the garage first, since henna season will be a while. You have seen my garage, so I know you are offering that blindly. Once the garage has more space, I should be able to move much of m y henna stuff down there anyway, so that will give me more room to organize that when I get to it later.
