So this year for (the day before) Halloween, [livejournal.com profile] abditus and I went (to the mall) as consumers. Since [livejournal.com profile] abditus had an eye appointment at a Lenscrafters in the Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton, we spent some time at the mall today... and shopped. A lot. Wow, did we spend more than either of us planned. That is what I get for shopping right after getting my paycheck, I guess.

Anyway, we both decided not to go to the party in SF we were planning to, and are instead playing with new toys. Weeeee!

We made the mistake of going into the Discovery Channel store. Since the one in the Metreon shut down, I have not been tempted by thier stuff in a while. There was plenty there to temp both me and [livejournal.com profile] abditus, although he only got one item, and that was for the cats (and yes, they like it). Along with a pilates book and weights, I got my self a BalanceBall® Chair, which seems silly but is actually rather comfortable (yes, I am using it right now) and bouncy! Weeeee!

I then went to an actual l'Occitane store and got to smell all the yummy stuff (instead of guessing from the descriptions online). No, I did not get out of there alive, and got myself several more yummy items. Hey, the Honey Comfort Cleansing Fluid was so new it was not available when I made that (rather large) order online, so I just had to get it. Le sigh.... The first step is admitting I have a problem. Well, you smell that stuff and tell me you could say no.

The other dangerous store we went to was the Apple store. Sure, we have frequented the Emeryville Apple store, which is a bit bigger, but we were there, and in a spending mood (apparently). I was able to replace the Sony Ear-Buds that I destroyed on Friday at work (that really put a damper on my day when I discovered how badly I had mangled them). But mister gadget was the big spender there. He has been wanting to get the iSight for himself and his mother so his parents could experience Jetson's-like video phones. We had to play with them right away, so we got to set them up, using my computer for the other side. Not bad! In fact once the cats got tired of their Hyper Mouse, we were able to show them to the other kitty in the box (see my new icon). The future is here!

And now both of us are currently doing our lj write-ups about our purchases.

Yes, we are geeks. Why do you ask?
