I was reading about the 85 Broads planned shopping "buycott" (thanks,
katiiis, for the info) and think it is an interesting idea. Most of these types of things, like the various gas boycott day, do not seem to make much of a difference from my perspective, because the businesses make-up for any loss the days before and after said boycott. I would be curious if it makes any difference with this one though.

Date: 2004-10-18 11:57 am (UTC)What does work is an extended, massive thing. It means always buying from independant bookstores and never buying from Amazon or B&N if you believe in small businesses. It means finding out which stores are "gay-friendly" and only buying from them. It means finding out which corporations are great on equality and only buying from them.
A one-day anything doesn't mean squat, IMO.
