Some time ago I got invited to a UFO (UnFinished Objects) party for Feb. 15th by the same friend who taught me to knit. I was not planning to go at first, but when the after-party dinner plans were mentioned in an attempt to entice me, I decided to float the idea to my BF. We are both fondue fanatics, so I figured it might be enough that we would be eating at la fondue after to convince him to join in this day of hanging out with people he does not know (aside from me, my friend and her partner) to work on whatever project was portable enough to bring with you. I figured correctly, and we agreed to participate in the days activities.

We managed to get up on time and leave with what seemed like just barely enough time to run a quick errand on the way to meet up with the friends in San Francisco so we could all carpool down together to the UFO party which was down in Sunnyvale.

The day before, some friends who have been trying to sell their house, asked if they could, again, hostel their cats with us while they had an open house. Since we were leaving before they would be able to bring the cats over, I decided it would be easier to just give them the key. They have been doing this most Sundays, and since their cats stay in a separate room from our cats, it has not caused any problems, so this no longer needs our direct attention. Anyway, these are close friends who have lived with me before, and it is probably a good idea for them to have a spare key.

On the way to drop off the key before heading to SF, my BF noticed the husband of this very couple walking along the waterfront path with their two boys. Good eye! I was able to make the next exit, which allowed us to, with only a minor detour, swing right past them, and hand over they key!

Well, that saved us some time, which meant we got to SF with plenty of time for our friends The & Jeanine to show off their newly acquired marriage certificate before making the drive down to the party.

Well, the details of the party are not much to report. I worked on some knitting, and helped Thea work on her website design. I was pleased to be able to point her to a really cool web tool I recently discovered when [livejournal.com profile] noirem and I were working on her site. My BF worked on a computer programming project that he has been working on for over a year, but found all the chatting a bit distracting.

Of course, la fondue was fabulous, although I think in the end, we all over did it, as is so easy to do with fondue. I still think we make better cheese fondue, though.
