I am putting together the playlist for the Monsters! game night that is happening on November 2nd. I have decided that I am going to have to be very flexible with the theme since there are only so many songs that are clearly about monsters.

Any suggestions?

Good point. I wonder where I can get a copy of that without having to buy the whole CD. I also need Thriller.

I've got a bit of horror movie soundtrack music available, if you want to piss off the RIAA. All instrumental, though.

Let me know, and I can make them available to you - mp3 and iPod format are both available.

here is the list that I was thinking about last night...

Moon over Bourbon Street - Sting

Pet Cemetary - The Ramones

Monster in my Pants - Fred Schnider (B-52's)

Tubular Bells - there is a dance version on Book of Love's Lullaby that is really good.

Carmina Burana (if you can find a tecno dance version)

Little Drop of Poison - Tom Waits (almost anything by him would work actually)

Lullaby - the Cure

more later

You do know you are going to have to bring some of these with you next time you come over, right? I do have Sting, and Tubular Bells covered, and Enigma does a Carmina Burana mix on The Screen Behind The Mirror. Oh and Lullaby, of course. But the rest I may need files for.

Almost anything off "Evidence of Heaven" album by Faith and the Muse...

Run Like Hell - Pink Floyd

The Battle of Evermore - Led Zeppelin

Still more later...

Oingo Boingo was the first place I started, so Dead Man's Party and Weird Science are the first songs I added to the list! I will listen to the others to decide what else works if I need more.

Jonathan Coulton's "Re: Your Brains" would be Excellent, and it has a youtube video.

His "Skullcrusher Mountain" is ok, but it's more mad scientist.

Yeah, I thought about putting Skullcrusher Mountain on the SciFi list from last month. I will go take a listen to the other one, it sounds like a it could be a winner.
