WOW for art thou?
Aug. 24th, 2007 07:28 pmSince life has not afforded me anything resembling spare time in the last few months, hobbies, like playing WoW, have fallen to the wayside. Last night was the first time I have played in over a month, and it was weird. I even spent a moment watching the trailer for the upcoming expansion: Wrath of the Lich King. The trailer is not nearly as good as the one for The Burning Crusade, but what tickles me is the other features they are adding, specifically...
"Transform your hero's look with new character-customization options, including new hairstyles and dances."
Yup, I am excited because my toons in game might be able to get a new hair style. How silly is that?

One of the things that people have been finding is that there is a certain amount of the gaming population that likes playing Dolls. ie Creating Toons and outfitting them in different ways. For some people its easier to do this onlne as you can do it in your own house, and not be judged by anyone else for doing it. When CoH (City of Heros) came out, most people at GDC where saying the CoH was actually 2 games, the first was Character Creation and the other the content.
So being Excited about new Hairstyles, Skin Tones and Dances is perfectly expected (especially after the big cheers at Blizzcon). The trailers should be getting better for WotLK (Wrath of the Lich King) as the time gets closer and closer. The trailer was mostly to announce the Death Knight and the Expansion at the same time. There are some rumors starting to circulate about new races as well, but I will take those with a grain of salt till I something more definative.
