Busy weekend
Feb. 16th, 2004 07:07 amAlthough I have had a busy weekend so far (and since I have Monday off, it is not over yet - more on my weekend later) I know there are many people who have had an even busier one. Some friends who come to mind started their weekend by getting in line early Friday morning to get married!
I am very excited for them. They had had a wedding ceremony about a year and a half ago, so it rocks that they were able to both take personal days with such short notice and participate in this historic event and receive an actual marriage certificate. They were seen on TV and in the newspaper in background shots of the lines. I have included one behind the cut where they are visible in the upper right of the photo (difficult for me to point out unless you know them, but they look like they are on either side of the the guy in the tan sports jacket and blue tie).

This seems like the most appropriate place to add this meme:
Apparently, although there were many people who jumped at the chance to help out with this process, there was lots of confusion. Jeanine told us about how they actually ended up doing the ceremony twice because the first time, a misguided volunteer minister invalidated their first certificate by crossing it out to make "corrections" which was not allowed.
