memories to cherish
Jan. 25th, 2004 09:06 amOver a year ago, at my mother's black-belt demonstration, one of her friends at the dojo put together a box of index cards and had everyone write something nice about her on one (or more) of the cards. This friend gave them to my mom, along with the other presents she received, as a box of memories to cherish that she could return to when she was feeling down and needed an emotional boost.
I got the idea today that a lj version of a memory box would be nice to have (and a good entry to save in my memories). I am not just talking about me (although I will start one here for me), but many of my friends who could use the boost. The way I see it working for lj is this:
Log out of LJ. Write a comment for this post stating something you like about me, posted as an anonymous user. Post each sentiment as a separate comment. These need not be deeply profound, just something you think I might like to read when I go through my lj memory box in the need of a boost.
You don't have to post as an anonymous user, but I figure it is a good way to cut through inhibitions and cut down on drama (I hope).
Now, go start the same on your journal, and I promise to post a comment there for you.
