In an effort to avoid work, I am taking this time to supply the answers to a couple of things I asked recently.

The first was my "what am I?" poll about an image.

Not surprising, most people got this one wrong. Before I reveal the answer, I must know, [livejournal.com profile] lysana, what exactly made you pick Beer as the answer? Foamy minds want to know.

Now for the "who am I?" queries in regards to the images I manipulated to include faces from various friends into existing paintings. The first batch (not counting the ones for [livejournal.com profile] emberleo) included several people, and the second had two images of just one.

Below are the images (not cropped) that have been altered, with a little description for each.

He came out very well, but the style of this artist with faces is... well, almost like something out of a gothy graphic novel and a challenge to match a real face to.

From a painting she has on her tribe that she had captioned "I wish I were her" which seemed like a perfect match for this kind of collage.

A more serious one, but indeed the same subject. Although you cannot see it, the source for her face is of a photo where her hair is in a very similar stye.

The dichotomy of the source photo for her face and the subject of this painting amuses me. I am sure she would agree.

This artist is a bit too stylistic to make this realistic, but parts of it work.

I did not show this one before because I was not happy with how it looked at the time. I tweeked it a bit more, and am willing to show it now. Also, i really wanted to have one of her that came out better than the first one.

So yeah, those who commented figured out who they were of, which seems like a good thing.

Now, I have a whole batch of new ones I want to work on of other people, but many of them are photos that either [livejournal.com profile] terpsichoros or [livejournal.com profile] tsgeisel took and I want to get permission before I use them, and perhaps some higher resolution versions (hint, hint). Speaking of obtaining photos, there are several of you that I know have photo I can use that I would like to get copies of. If I can get copies before I leave on Monday, I can take this with me as a fun project to work on while on the flight to Mexico. Specifically, I would like decent resolution face shots of [livejournal.com profile] tshuma (from that photo shoot you did earlier this year), [livejournal.com profile] smittenkitten61(profile), [livejournal.com profile] zhaneel69 (without glasses), [livejournal.com profile] labelleizzy (3/4 view, thoughtful expression), and [livejournal.com profile] fan_boy (3/4 view). Hey [livejournal.com profile] abditus! Do you still have the photos we took of [livejournal.com profile] shipofools999 we took at BayCon a few years ago?

I had science on the brain and was thinking it might be a shot of a cold glass of beer with some sort of special camera.

Foamy!

Well, not only was it a good guess, it is correct (good brain, you get a biscuit)! It is specifically an Amstel. The other image I posted later is of a Bass Pale Ale.
