I should be sleeping, but...
Nov. 7th, 2005 12:47 amMy weekend was full of ups and downs. I am continuing to think a lot about building a sustainable community. It is clear that it will take a long time to get it to the stage where it is truly self sustaining, but the only way to even get close is to take the first step.
After deserting the island idea, and deciding to keep to California, I found several listings that gave me some ideas, most in Northern California. The one that I am currently the most interested in is the 440 +/- acre wooded land about 150 hours/3.5 hours north of Lake Tahoe, near Lake Eagle. I showed it to W today, and he totally saw what I envisioned, and then some. His enthusiasm made-up for a lot of the downs I had about the whole sustainable community dreams that I experienced this weekend.
