Geek in the canyon
Jul. 23rd, 2005 11:10 pmI know I am a geek because here I am in Sequoia National Park with my family, and I have my computer hooked-up to a dial-up so I can check my mail (and LJ, of course). I realized that I get a lot of my geekness from my grandfather, who leads the family in tech toys. Typically he has the most tech toys of anyone on a family trip. This time, however, I was the one to up-load the pictures my dad, sister and I had taken from the last few days here, mostly on our hikes, and showed them tonight to the family as a slide show, complete with music. This is very much something my granddad would do, and it was fun to be able to do it for the family, including him, and they all loved the results. I have to say, I have a really cool family.
So, in honor of that, I created a new icon, which includes my sister, dad and I, with just a fragment of the beautiful views we get to see while here.
