On the drive home from Lark Camp, [livejournal.com profile] abditus and I were talking about what we would do different next year (or that went well that we want to remember). I have been working on a mental list since arriving at Lark, and figure I should write some of this down so I don't forget. If things work as intended, I will add this to my memories, and have it to check next year.

The other thing that makes me want to be more organized about next Lark is that it looks like I will be one of the new quartermasters for the food service. This year we were lacking a quartermaster because he decided he could not attend Lark, and this was only discovered two days before Lark started! The position of quartermaster is the type of job that really takes more than one person for a camp this size, so I will probably be sharing it with two others, which is a good thing, since I probably would burn out too quickly if it were just me.

List of things to remember for Lark next year:
• Do not get sick before, during or after Lark Camp!!!
• Bring an apron (I still have the one I got just for Lark that first year, so I really should bring it for a change instead of borrowing every year)
• Bring extra rubber gloves again for the kitchen crew (we ran out even earlier this year, so I am glad I brought some this year)
• Bring extra bandanas and other head coverings to loan out (those came in handy)
• Ditch the camp chairs and table as we don't use them and they only take up space in the car
• Get to site early enough to set-up during daylight and find a spot to pitch the tent that is not sloped
• Bring gardening gloves for handling the tent (especially while striking camp)
• Pack some bottles of Frappachino for the last day since the coffee house will be closed and the only coffee available usually sucks (maybe even bring the coffee press?)
• Take First Aid before camp?
• Get certified for longer range radio channels? ([livejournal.com profile] abditus, can you tell me more about this?)

I know there is more, but I am not remembering everything right now. I will have to add more later.

Any suggestions of things I should remember/consider for next year?
