actually...

Yes, I have (and that is a good suggestion). In fact, I printed out the steps for de-cluttering and showed them to him, and was surprised to find that he was not only not opposed, but thought it was a good idea!

Part of my frustration is related to having him tell me he wants to do this, but feeling like he does not understand what all needs to be done to actually get results. Also, his timetable is often different than mine. I need to be assured that he is still on track, even when he/we take a break, but he resists suggestions of making a plan because that is too structured for him (too much like being told what to do, and therefor an infringement on his freedom).

I recently laid out a plan for the next few weeks of work we needed to do to get ready for the windows being replaced, and the big yard sale coming up. He balked. His response was that it was unrealistic to expect everything to get done, and seemed to imply that therefor was not worth even trying!

Right now he is dealing with a major project at work which has been keeping very late (he was still not home by 2 AM last night!), which means I cannot get his help even is he was willing. If this was all my stuff, it would be all my problem to deal with, but trying to find my stuff buried under his is what makes me so crazy.

Sigh...I could sure use a body double for him that is happy to help while he is working.
