weekend in review
Oct. 8th, 2007 05:20 pmFriday night game night went very well. The playlist was appreciated and set the mood well. We had nearly as big a turn out as last time, which even included the host of another game night, who skipped out on one of his own groups scheduled events to join us!
I slept in my own bed that night and got to faire late Saturday morning. Miss L ended up being the only henna artist there for the first hour or so, which is ironic since she was pulled in to be our back-up artist this year. Business was good and kept me and the other artists busy most of the weekend.
Saturday night I was pleased to have, for the first time, remembered in advance to bring the proper attire to attend Black & Pearl. Ironically, it took so long for the other shows to end before it started, I got distracted, and ended up in a rather nice RV drinking Manhattans with
chaosloom and several other Naughty Minstrels. It really was difficult to convince myself to leave for the ball when I was sitting comfortably inside on a wing back chair with the occasional bachelor(ette) party crashing by and plenty of interesting conversations to keep me entertained.
Sunday I made my first real pilgrimage to Casa de Diner to wait for the traffic to disperse.
chaosloom and I tagged onto
gypsy_ritsa and her boy and eventually got a table and slow but friendly service. We kept telling her we were in no hurry when she apologized for the slow service - really it was that or sitting in traffic with low blood sugar.
Over dinner I asked what everyone's highlights had been so far at this Ren Faire. I think it would be fun to hear from any of the others who have been working faire this year their answer to the same question. Since I don't want to spoil the answers (yeah, I want you to think on your own about this one), I ask that you reply without looking at other responses.
So, what are your highlights so far from 2007 Northern Ren Faire?
