too much of not much
Jan. 16th, 2006 01:19 pmI have not been posting much lately, and I can attribute that to a combination of too much and not enough. I feel like there is much that has gone through my mind as post worthy, and even somethings I would like to share, but at the same time, I feel that there is not much to say, really. Since posting is about what I want out of my LJ, this is not an apologetic statement "to my readers" or anything like that.
Work:
I have not had much work to do since before I left for Mexico, at which time I was juggling too much, and actually was working up to the minute right before boarding my flight. Although the break is nice, tomorrow I have a temp assignment (at a regular client) for the first time since getting back, which is a relief. I want to have enough work to bring in enough money to stretch my resources out as long as possible, and still have some flexibility. I am doing some pro-bono work for some friends who need some serious updates to their website, but I doubt I will be able to do as much as I (and they) would like since I will have to work within the existing site. It seems like a good chance to flex my web production muscles a little though.

Homesteading:
I am still working on getting people together to help form a corporation that can work on buying land, and creating a land trust. In addition to getting land to build a village in, say, northern California, I would like to also explore buying a more local multi-unit building to create a co-housing like community here in the bay area. I strongly feel that everyone needs their own space, but that sharing resources is one of the only ways to make living in the bay area work for most people I know. I am tired of my friends and I barely making it, and yet, knowing there is a better way if we pool our talents and resources.
