From [livejournal.com profile] elfwreck  via [livejournal.com profile] terpsichoros :

This is the Science Fiction Film Canon, 50 most influential (not necessarily best or worst) films as listed by John Scalzi in his Rough Guide to Science Fiction Films. Bold those you've seen; italicize those you want to see and strike those you have no desire to see or wish you hadn't seen. Put an asterisk (*) after the ones you own.

So, do I like Sci-Fi films? )

I have been thinking a lot about posting on a subject that I am passionate about for some time now, but that many of my readers may not even know about me. The reason I want to post is to start acting on this dream, and keeping in mind the concept that the more people you tell, the more likely your dreams are to be realized, I should really tell more people about it. That, and it is something that would be better realized with more people. For starters, since I don't have as much time as I would like right now to give it the full attention, I thought it might be fun to test your knowledge of me and see who can guess the subject. Mind you, I made this so you could choose more than one, and everything here is already on my interests list, so there really is no wrong answer as I am passionate about them all to some extent, but rather which one(s) would surprise you about me the most.

[Poll #599739]

And with that, I give you one of my favorite poems:
A Dream Deferred
by Langston Hughes

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Since this one amuses me... Rob says:

Astronomers have recently discovered four objects beyond the orbit of Pluto that might be considered planets. Only one, Sedna, has a formal name thus far. While awaiting their official designation from the International Astronomical Union, the others are being referred to as Santa, Easterbunny, and Xena (as in TV's "Warrior Princess"). According to my meditations, these three are in cahoots with the sign of the Bull right now, meaning that you might have maximum success if you blend the qualities inherent in their archetypes. So be fiercely generous, Taurus. Unleash your instinctual fertility. Fight hard for abundance. Celebrate strong versions of the feminine. Draw inspiration from playful myths. Halloween costume suggestions: Ninja Santa, Xena Claus, Samurai Easter Bunny.

You better watch-out! The Ninja Santa knows when you've been good or bad.
