B-day plans, update
May. 9th, 2005 03:00 pmI am rather busy at work this week, so I have yet to post any updates on the birthday plans. Here a quick update, although nothing is totally settled, so consider these plans organic.
Friday, May 13th - Assuming I get everything done at work, I will take that day off, and drive down to the Monterey area with my mom and brother to go sea kayaking. Anyone who can make it is welcome to join. I don't know exact times yet, but it is likely to be early. We plan to stay in Monterey that night, even if I cannot join them for the kayaking.
Saturday, May 14th - Castroville Artichoke Festival opens at 10 AM. I am not sure when we will arrive, but I am guessing around noon which should give people driving in some time to get there. I will bring my mobile phone and those who plan to show-up should let me know if they do not have my number. After plans are flexible, as is how long we will stay. I plan to play this day by ear, so no pressure. Unfortunately, housemate R and the boys will not be able to make it after-all, but there will probably be a couple of people with kids along.
Sunday, May 15th - Brunch at The Oasis (the new place) will probably start around 11, and is open-house style, so people can show-up between 11 and 2 and still get food. The food will feature artichokes from the festival, but not exclusively. Housemate R will be making most or all of the food, so either way, it will be good.
Thursday, May 19th - Looks like a dinner out will be in order, but I am still thinking about where. Suggestions are welcome for decent moderately priced food in the general east bay area.
I will let people know by Thursday how the plans are looking.
