I am nearing the home stretch here at work, and figured I could actually take a meme break in order to post my results from the following:

Seeing as this photo looks very similar to my cat, Blanca, I am amused. Not sure what Leeloo and Yeats would think though, as they are the cats I now live with and it has been over 5 years since I lived with Blanca, or her son, Blake.

60,000 mile gough

This morning I dropped my car off at the dealer to get the 60,000 mile maintenance service in preparation for the long drive to and from Mendocino Woodlands. I was planning to at least get an oil change before heading up tomorrow, but realized that my car was at nearly 60,000 miles, which seemed like a good time to get the full service, so decided to just take it to the dealer (I prefer getting the major maintenance services done at the dealer).

This all seems like a smart thing to do, and in the long run it is. But my wallet is not so sure. I just got off the phone with the service department, and sure enough they found several things that need to be repaired, especially before taking along car trip. In total, it is all going to cost upwards of $1200 for all the repairs, including the regular maintenance.

Ouch!

Good thing I managed to pay down my credit card as much as I have recently. Unfortunately, I was planning to use it for buying my mom's computer soon (since it extends the warrantee).

On top of that, my mom just asked for money to pay her rent, and this is the month that our rent goes up (negating those raises abditus and I just got)!

Crud.

Oh, and it means I don't get my car back until late morning tomorrow. We were going to pack the car tonight. Just what I wanted to deal with at the last minute.
