abditus move some stuff over to his new place that makes me sad is that my fish died.

I used to keep him at work, but when I took two weeks off, I did not want to ask anyone at work to take care of him, so I took him home. When I realized I was going to driving past work on the way to abditus's new place, that seemed like a good time to bring him to my office now that I am back at work instead of bringing him to the new place and just have to bring him in another day. One trip seemed better than two, but I did not have anyone to hold his bowl for the trip, so I drained it as much as I could and still leave him some water to swim in (betta fish can live is small amounts of water, although I usually give him an entire fish bowl). I borrowed R&O's mini-van to take the last load over, and put the bowl into the baby seat. Well, when I got there, on the way back from dropping stuff off in Alameda, and looked into the bowl, I did not see any fish. Upon closer examination, I saw his little body buried under the gravel, which had shifted during the drive.
From as long as I can remember, I have always liked pets, but the older I get, the more I realize how much I don't want to have my own. Loosing a fish is not as heartbreaking as loosing a cat, dog, or bird, or even a bunny or other small rodent (all pets I have had and had pass), but I will still miss Blub-blub. I guess it is time to go look for another fish.
