I can probably blame some of how I feel on PMS or something, but I have been feeling rather delicate lately. So, the fact that no one seems to have anything to say to me (in my own posts) here in LJ land is adding to my feelings of being disconnected from people. Especially when some of the posts had specific questions with requests to respond.

Maybe I should post a silly poll or something.

Sweetie, you posted your last thing on a Friday. Try not to be too surprised if no one responds to it fully until Saturday morning. I know it feels like you are just throwing out your words to be swallowed by the void, but breathe, focus, ground, and center. That is actually not included in the posts I was whining about, although your detailed response is very appreciated. No, it is the ones from the last few days regarding plans, like going to see devonapple's play, in which I know have NO IDEA who is going with me tonight because people are being lame about responding.

Silly polls (as in me creating a poll about something "lite") sometimes seem to get more response because it is easier for people to have a response. I am not referreing to meme quizes, although sometimes those also get more response than the posts I am talking about (in which I specifically asked people to respond).

Thanks for the offer, hon. I wish I had noticed before heading to bed, as I probably would have taken you up on the offer. I was up late for a similar reason (he was off playing in a Champions game), although I think I ended up going to bed around 2ish after reading for a bit (something I have not been doing much lately so that was nice).

I am mainly whining about all the posts that have to do with plans that people were requested to "get back to me" about. For you, specifically (as well as a slew of others), that would be the WoW posts about creating a guild on Windrunner. Now before you object that you don't have time for another character, we are not asking for anyone to spend lots of time, just create someone identical looking of any class (see my post for details) so we can get enough to create a guild in the first place (right now we have 4). I will take a little coordinating, and a little time, but other than that, only the amount of time you want to put into it. And I have to say, the coordinated giggle attacks are well worth it.

I'm sorry, my computer is working again but I spend very little time actually looking at it, so I've been really bad about responding to the things I do see. I keep meaning to call you and see if you want to hang out, and then of course I forget.

There's a yarn expo in Santa Clara next weekend (11th-13th) in Santa Clara. Would you like to go with me? I can't afford to buy anything (and need a friend to remind me of that) but I'd like to go drool.

Many days late (as I wasn't reading your journal at the time, but am back-skimming tonight), but I know exactly how you feel/felt. My blog's offsite, and while the hit counter proves that a surprising number of people read it, very few folks tend to comment. This really bothered me for quite awhile until I decided my journal was for me, dammnit, and I didn't need validatation, but I still feel, well, delicate sometimes, and want the love.

So retroactively, I'm here (now) and reading! And have found your most recent posts really interesting (which perhaps means I should comment directly on them), too. ^_^

Well, thank you Angie, and welcome. When I started an LJ account, I had already made some decisions about my journal being for me, but the fact that I was trying to get responses about specific plans and was hearing nothing was what triggered this post. That, and the aforementioned PMS.

One of the plans in question feel through because the people who had responded forgot they had said yes in the first place (which is what triggered the later rant about making plans). It all worked out in the end, as it tends to (although neither of those friends made it), but I think I will only use LJ to announce, and not as my primary way to organize an event. Lesson learned.

I have come to notice that certain types of posts get more comments than others, and that there is an art to writing with getting comments in mind. I do not always write with that in mind for the very reason that it is not always about comments because my journal is for me. There are some posts I am surprised to get comments, and others I am surprised do not (like the ones I have asked a direct question or asked for input).

Sorry we missed each other for the yarn expo. I would have just gone and spent money anyway. Did you end up being good and not buying anything, or did you give in to the temptation and come away with some lovely yarn find from the expo?

I was bad but not terribly bad. I bought another skein of some green merino wool I had picked up previously and a skein of verigated marino/mohair in pink/purple/blue. Both are ear-marked for lace shawls :) all told, less than $50.
