I was thinking while making plans on short notice to fly out to Reno this weekend that there was something I wanted to do this weekend, but I could not remember what.

Something interesting...
Not an obligation to someone (I have been fairly good about writing those kinds of commitments down)...
Something that was only happening that weekend...

Well, I finally figured out what it is...

Alton Brown is appearing in the bay area this weekend!!!!

Waaaahhhhhh!!!!

Hmmm...my return flight gets me to Oakland at noon. Maybe abditus can pick me up at the airport and we can boogie up to Santa Rosa for the last show...?

Bummer!

Well, I think I have convinced abditus to pick me up from the airport and drive us there (only fair since he introduced me to GE). My flight arrives at noon, and it should take us about 2 hours at most to get there. My mom lives nearby so, I think she is going to scout out the scene for us.

We will be bringing the camera, no doubt (abditus has a nice digital with some good lenses in case we are not close enough), and our copies of "I'm Just Here for the Food" and the kitchen manual in case we can get them signed.

I will be sure to post about it if we get to see him.

Thanks for posting links to the photos people have been taking. I have not been reading the communities lately, so your updates are the only ones I see regularly. I loved the UtiliKilt photos from OC. Since I am already a fan of a man in a UtiliKilt (abditus has two) I was tickled AB has one also.

Sharing the AB love is one of my favorite things to do. I keep hoping people will become fellow fans if I talk about him enough (hey, it's worked before). Glad you're able to enjoy the Alton-y photo goodness too. Yay!

Thank YOU in advance for taking the cameras when you go to see him. I can't wait to see the pics! Hopefully he'll be sporting that Utilikilt again. *g*
