Golden Compass

So cool! I am looking forward to this movie.

eh. I read the books and, while I liked the first two, I was disapointed by Dragonfly in Amber. It ruined the whole seried for me.

I also read the books and the story tends to drag as it goes on in the series, but the imagery was often beautiful, if dark. As for the film, my interest lies more in the special effects. They look to be impressive, and detailed.

The character-change in the parents in Amber Spyglass is jarring, and it feels like the "story-arch of cosmic significance" was a late addition to the series, but I love the set of books in spite of that.

How do you get your daemon?!? I went to the movie site, took the frustratingly-slow-to-download quiz, got as far as a name for my daemon...then nothing. No picture, no code for reposting, nothing. I would LOVE to have a daemon to post. What am I doing wrong?

There was a choice to set the daemon as is or let people comment to change the final form. When you go to save it (bottom right after creating your daemon) you get the choice to save or ask a friend. You want to ask a friend etc. for getting the code, and it will also email it to you.

Sounds like you got options I didn't see. This is from the movie website?

How are you getting to the site? Getting as far as the name seems like you are on the right track. Perhaps it is your computer - this did not run too slow for me despite all the fancy graphic animation. Odd, I am seeing others getting the expected results.

It seemed glacial, mostly. I had it run smoothly once, right after your first message; but it never sent me the email, and my attempts to repeat the process were extremely slow, and again failed to produce the animal.

Weird.
