Moving right along...

I have now spent two nights in my new place! Thanks to the help of a couple of friends I was able to move a bunch of stuff over on Wednesday, including my bed, dresser, and vanity, as well as a bunch of other stuff. What is even better is that we were able to set the bed up, which is an undertaking. The first time I set it up, psyche7772 and I had to figure it all out from scratch, which took almost half the day. This time, the same people who helped me break it down were there to help set it up again, as well as psyche7772 and roommate C. Having more people, and fresh knowledge made it go much faster. What was even nicer was that when I got back from returning the van psyche7772 and roommate C had put the mattress cover back on for me!

On Monday night psyche7772 sweet-talked mercator_7 into helping us move the couch (and a few other items) over with his trailer. Thanks to his help I will not be needing to rent a truck at all!

I am going to the old place tomorrow to clean, pack and generally get things ready for the final push on Sunday. Probably no earlier than noon, archangelkhaos and at least one other friend will be helping me get the last of the stuff. The only real big stuff is my card table (non-folding), camping gear, and bike. The rest is mostly boxes and the like.

Anyone else who wants to pitch in on either Saturday or Sunday will be fed at least one meal. One of the days will probably even be Zachary's Pizza. Yum!

why did you move? did r and o and the kids move as well?

No, they did not move. O got into nursing school, and they will need someone to watch the kids full time. They are going to have their friend William move in, and frankly, I think that house is too small for 4 adults and 3+ kids (William has his 3 kids every other weekend) and it turned out the timing worked for me to move in with psyche7772 and Clare, both good friends who have been wanting me to join them since they found this place.

ah... no. He took it very personally when I decided I did not want to live there any more and is not talking to me.
