So we finally got to see the Matrix on Friday. It kind of just happened, instead of being planned as some kind of date, as promised. He picked me up at work, and we talked about going to a movie. Since that is the only movie we both want to see right now it was the obvious choice, although we had hopped to see it on IMax as that was where his company took them. No dice there; the IMax theatre at the Metreon is sold out for over a week (I later was told). Instead we went to the Hilltop theatre, which is where I saw the last release opening night with my friend. I had remembered it not being too difficult to get seats, which was true this time as well. Dinner ended up being McDonalds, because it was the most convenient to the theatre. This hardly counts as special as I was hoping for, but at least we got to see the movie together first. Sigh.

The movie was fun. I went in knowing it was the final installment of the trilogy and not meant to stand alone, which I get the impression some people must have forgotten (based on some of the reviews). The special effects did not disappoint either.
