Not always according to plans
Despite the many social options facing my weekend, I am surprised at how focused my weekend was. Although not exactly according to plans, I managed to get a lot done.
Friday night we attended the only social event of the several I had available this weekend. A Nice boots... party, where not only did the hostess get to show off some awesome new boots, but guests were encouraged to dress to show-off items from their own wardrobe as well. I stuck to my Pet-able Blond tendencies, and chose lots of velvet, including my fabulous and much coveted rusty-maroon long J. Peterman jacket. This netted me the welcome news from
shipofools999 that J. Peterman has returned! Of course I already see a blouse and a skirt I must have. I was also able to pump
shipofools999 for more tips on how to use lj tags (see!?) and other useful lj tips.
For those who want to know how the Bug Cull went, it changed, a bit, as it all happened on Sunday, but I think that worked for the best in the end. On Saturday Chad and I made great strides in cleaning and organizing the living room and some of the kitchen. This was a long time in coming and we just wanted to collapes on the couch in our newly organized living room, and enjoy the results. Needless to say, we did not attend the Gaskell Ball which is a shame, but probably made for a less stressfull Sunday.
With the help of Isabelle and her friend Michele (who made a lovely hanger maven) we determined that the ball-gowns are mostly keepers, and I still need to make a trip to my storage unit to go through the rest of the ones I know I will probably pass along. I also owe thanks to Elizabeth and Cindy, as well as
emberleo (who showed up despite a throbbing headache) for help determining what NOT to wear. I managed to fill one entire large moving box with definitely-nots, and a large hamper with maybe-nots. These will all be at the yard sale we are having on November 15th, so anyone who wants to look through the results is welcome to stop by.
